Gemba Risk Assessment Report

The Risk Assessment Report

Our proven processes Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control every foreseeable threat to the well being and safety of your organization and its charges.

Gemba’s principals have been instrumental in helping thousands of facilities throughout the U.S. and Asia improve their safety, security and communication infrastructures. Our team of experienced security and communication professionals conducts thorough Risk Assessments — then helps develop strategies to improve operational performance, minimize risks and reduce losses.

A thorough, professional assessment of your security and communications needs is the first step toward an effective security program.

Community – review, demographics, logistical resources, concerns such as drugs, gangs, crime, abandoned structures, graffiti (tagging)

Traffic – flow, approaches, parking, parking tags, visitor parking spaces, student drop-off/pick-up

Campus – cleanliness, lighting, signage, gates, trees, shrubs, police presence, car parked out front and moved often

Facility Exterior – repair, cameras, doors closed & locked, technology application and usage

Facility Interior – cameras, doors closed & locked whether occupied or empty, hazardous material labeled and secured, access to unauthorized areas, sensitive material secured, technology application and usage, back-up power, tip line, mass notification

Policy and Procedure – key control, visitor management, student pick-up, door control, ID badges, crisis management plan, drills, graffiti, after hours management, communication with buses and bus garage, first responder drills and practice, anti-bullying training

Staff and Student Survey – do they feel safe? Scared? Are they free to express concerns? Do they have and know of a means to anonymously report alarming conversations? Have they heard rumors of threats, attacks or suicidal tendencies?

Technology – are the proper technologies employed? Does it provide effective coverage? Is it used effectively or merely there to infer security? Do users know how to use it and do they use it? Is it tested and maintained regularly with test results documented and kept on file?
